Family Self-Sufficiency

FSS is a program designed to assist Section 8 participants and Public Housing residents by connecting them to services and resources within the community. 

The FSS staff will assist participants in developing the skills and self-confidence needed to become self-sufficient.  Resources are available to provide assistance in the following areas:

Financial Literacy:

  • Financial Counseling
  • Credit Repair
  • Banking & Money Management

Adult Education:

  • Literacy Training
  • High School Diploma/GED Preparation
  • Basic Education

Job Training & Skills:

  • Resume Writing
  • Interviewing Techniques
  • Computer Training
  • Resources to Meet Challenges
  • Soft Skills Training 

Healthcare Coordination:

  • Affordable Care Act Referrals
  • Applying for Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security
  • Health Information & Service Coordination

Senior Services:

  • Meal Services
  • Assistance with Activities of Daily Living
  • Disability Service Coordination
  • Social Worker, Health Coach, and Nurse Referral
